The center has extensive cooperation and exchanges with Georgia China Research Center, Georgian Silk Road Research Center and major universities there. At present, Lanzhou University has opened a Confucius Institute in Georgia, an independent Confucius Classroom, signed a memorandum of cooperation with a number of universities. It has also carried out substantive cooperative projects with Tbilisi Open University to build a doctoral program (international relations / China direction), to realize project cooperation, personnel exchanges and other forms of cooperation.In the future, the centre will continue to promote bilateral talent exchanges and personnel interactions, and strengthen cooperation between universities and other academic institutions in the two countries.
Relying on the Confucius Institute and the International Cultural Exchange College of Lanzhou University, GRC will implement education and training at all levels of international students, and implement substantive talent training programs such as student exchange, credit recognition, and scholars' mutual visits.
The centre will organize regularly international academic conferences and high-level forums through which young scholars from both sides are trained to further develop their horizons and enhance mutual understanding. The International Forum on Belt and Road Initiative was already held in Tbilisi in early May, 2018.
GRC will make full use of the Confucius Institute platform to strengthen intercollegiate cooperation with more universities and secondary schools in Georgia. Lanzhou University has signed a memorandum of cooperation with three universities in Georgia. The No.5 High School of Nanjing, China, has, bridged by Confucius Institute, become a friendly school with the No.98 Public School of Tbilisi, Georgia.The two sides have had mutual visits and sent students to exchange regularly. Shihezi University and Georgia Agricultural University intend to establish cooperation and invite Georgian wine experts to give lectures and train Chinese wine talents.In line with the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Georgia Free Trade Agreement, more talents in business services and tourism services will be cultivated.
